Fashion Forward: Fantasy Fashion League
Every week we introduce you to the latest trends. But tonight, it's not about a particular look, but a game that's sweeping the fashion world. Seven's Diana Diaz explains in tonight's Fashion Forward.
WSVN -- As if football season isn't bad enough, Ladies, we now have to deal with fantasy football.
You know the game where grown men pick pro players and get points based on their statistics.
Well, if you're tired of seeing your man have all the fun, listen up -- there's a new game in town with no unnecessary roughness.
It's called Fantasy Fashion League.
Football widow and creator Erica Salmon and shoe designer Taryn Rose say it's simple to play.
Erica Salmon: "What you do is you have a roster of 10 players, so you have fashion designers, accessories designers and celebrities. We have over 400 celebrities that you can chose from."
The rules are simple: There's no tackling or fumbling.
Just print out the roster of fashion icons, and then choose your fantasy team -- three celebrities, four fashion designers and three accessory designers.
Every time someone from your team appears on a major fashion magazine or on the red carpet, you score.
Taryn Rose: "I always like to chose Nicole Kidman because she is just gorgeous and of course Chanel 'cause the two of them kind of go together."
The game is being played across the U.S. and around the world.
Points are tallied on the Fantasy Fashion League website.
All you need are some fashion magazines, a group of friends and some wine and cheese.
Margo Schneider and her friends recently got in on the game.
Margo Schneider: "Lots of our husbands play fantasy football and fashion league is a way of us getting together and having a girls night in."
Caryn Listz: "It's really not that difficult, especially having the worksheets and the designer list you get to pick from it."
By the way, the season appropriately ends with the Superbowl of fashion -- the Oscar Awards.
Caryn Listz: "This has been great, it's so nice to have a girls' night. It's so nice to have something for ourselves."
Diana Diaz: "If you decide to play, you've got to enter the Santa Margherita Toast to Fashion contest. Send in a picture of you and your friends playing Fantasy Fashion League, and you can win a trip to LA during Oscar week."
