Fashion Forward: Metallic

WSVN -- The Pussycat Dolls made a grand entrance at this year's MTV Video Music Awards wearing the fall favorite.

Little Kim, Jack Black and Shakira wore some kind of metallic too.

This season, it's not just metallic that's in but glitter, Swarovski crystal, rhinestones, sequins and just about anything that sparkles.

Jill Ginsberg: "Metallic is always going to be in because it makes a really good statement and it looks good on everybody."

You'll find plenty of heavy metal at Bar Boutique in Hollywood, and we're not talking about the musical kind.

Here you'll find crystals, sequins and metallic golds, silver and bronzes in anything from vintage pantsuits to workout outfits.

Just make sure you don't wear too much of it.

Jill Ginsberg: "It looks great when you wear it a little bit, but you don't want to wear every single piece because you do look a little bit much."

But this year, you can mix and match metallics like gold and silver.

Wear a crystal camouflage skull tee with a big gold belt over jeans or mix black sequin and a bronze purse.

In fact, you'll find all kinds of shiny colors in one outfit.

Jill Ginsberg: "This year you can pretty much use any kind of metallic you want."

All that glitters is gold at Scarlett Boutique on U.S. 1 in Pinecrest.

But you'll also find lots of other colors here in metallic, glitter and Swarovski crystal.

Fashionistas say the trend is back now that the holidays are just around the corner.

Stacy Allen: "It just always goes with everything, glitter or metallic are the theme, it's very holiday. Festive, it's a very festive look."

But you don't have to wait until Christmas or New Years to wear something that sparkles.

It's a look that can take you from day to night right now.

Stacy Allen: "You can do it with jeans, you can wear it with a beautiful skirt. Anything sort of goes, especially in Miami."

You can wear metallic or crystals to work, but make sure it's just an accent piece and doesn't overpower your outfit.
