This time of year means two things: Gifts and gowns. If you're planning on celebrating in style, looking hot for the holidays means first knowing where to shop. In tonight's Fashion Forward, 7's Diana Diaz shows us how, with the right dress, you can even warm up the North Pole.

WSVN -- 'Tis the season for socials and soirees.

But for many of us, the biggest problem isn't where to go but what to wear.

Andrea Warner: "This season it's all about fun, glitz, glamour and just a fabulous look."

If you want to be the belle of the ball, head to Fashion Passion Boutique at the Galleria Mall in Fort Lauderdale.

At this store, it's easy to dress like a star.

That's because it carries the same dresses you'll find on your favorite celebrities.

Andrea Warner: "Our dresses are statement pieces. You walk in, you'll be noticed. They are very celebrity driven, so, once you wear our dresses, you won't be forgotten."

This year, Andrea says a basic black dress will do, but why not add character with color?

At Fashion Passion, you'll find dresses in every shade, from hot pinks to bright red.

But if you really want to add some zing, you've got to have plenty of "bling."

Andrea Warner: "Most of our dresses, that's our statements. The pearls with the Swarovski crystals all about glitz this season. That's all you're going to see and colors."

If, on the other hand, you obsess for something original, local designer Ivonne De La Vega specializes in making one-of-a-kind dresses.

All the work is done in her Las Olas Boulevard boutique, from sketching the look to sewing the final seam.

Ivonne de la Vega: "We create beautiful, special pieces for anyone of any age. Basically we can custom-design anything or, we can also choose from the over 100 samples we have in different colors."

From bold backs to sparkling details, the gowns you'll find here don't follow trends.

Instead, Ivonne tries to make every design different depending on a client's body type.

Plus she takes requests.

Ivonne de la Vega: "She always wants to look thin, about 10 pounds thinner than she already is. That's usually what we, that's the first thing that comes out of the request."

And, as always, a special night calls for special attention. Everything from European-imported laces and silk to custom embroidery.

It's a dress even Cinderella would be jealous of.

Ivonne de la Vega: "They want to feel special, and they want to have something no one else has. So we try to keep very close tabs on what dress is going where."

Both Ivonne De La Vega and Fashion Passion try to keep a list of what event their customers are going to, so you won't see someone else wearing your dress.
