All Fashion Forward

Looking like you just stepped off the tennis court or came from the gym doesn't mean you have to run home and change anymore. As 7's Diana Diaz shows us in tonight's Fashion Forward, one of the latest spring trends will make you look sporty chic without ever breaking a sweat.

WSVN -- From the treadmill to the runways, if you want to look fit but also be in fashion, it's all about dressing sporty chic.

Melissa Goff: "Sporty chic is where you take something you would normally wear to the gym, or to workout, say maybe a workout pant from Adidas or a tennis skirt from Nike, and you pair it with something in your closet to make it a chic outfit, to go out to dinner or maybe to lunch with."

At Macy's at Dadeland Mall the look is sporty and casual with this Lacoste tank dress in pretty spring colors or look like you just left the gym in this Nike top and cropped pant. A hooded top in a fun print paired with a tennis skirt also looks great when you leave the sneakers at home.

Melissa Goff: "If you want to achieve the sporty chic look, try a great heel, possibly a wedge, or even, say, one of the patterned Keds or Converse."

Navy Keds look cute with a sporty shirt and a crisp white mini-skirt. Or go really colorful in a hot pink polo and a pair of green Keds. From terry cloth hoodies in a rainbow of colors to short jumpsuits, dressed up with heels and wedges you'll look fashionably athletic even if you know nothing about sports.

At the newly-opened MNG by Mango on South Beach, the sporty chic trend takes on a different look.

Paolo Larussi from MNG by Mango: "A lot of geometrical shapes, triangles, circular, squares, you can see it clearly in the cuts of the clothing."

And leggings are back big time, they can be paired up with practically anything. Basic black leggings look great with an off-the-shoulder graphic T and black patent leather pumps. Or try spring yellow leggings paired with a dress. Wrap up the look with a wide-waist belt. Even a denim mini-skirt looks sporty with white leggings underneath.

Paolo Larussi: "Particularly with the leggings there's a big misconception. People think leggings are just for the Gym. They are not. They are for fashion."

So whether it's a hoodie and shorts or skinny jeans with layered tank tops, you can look sporty chic without working up a sweat.

Diana Diaz: One last note, the sporty chic look can include shorts, skirts or even halter dresses, anything with a sporty feel. Then you add your own personal touches to make it chic."
