All Fashion Forward

Remember the polyester dresses and tiny mini skirts your mom used to wear? OK, maybe she didn't, but the 60s-inspired "Mod" look is back with a fresh approach for Spring 2007. 7's Diana Diaz shows us in tonight's Fashion Forward.

WSVN -- Mike Myers and the gang rocked the 60s-inspired Mod look in the Austin Powers movies -- and now the look is back and bigger than ever!

At Macy's at Dadeland Mall, Mod is making a huge comeback -- with everything from bold prints to bright colors.

Melissa Goff: "You're also going to see very graphic prints in harmonious color combinations -- blues to purple, fuchsia to purple -- so it gives us that psychedelic without being psychedelic, mod, 60s feel."

And the feel is no longer 100 percent polyester. We're talking silky fabrics like this mini-tent dress or kick up your heels in this mod-patterned, empire waist mini-dress -- complete with hot pink patent leather stilettos.

Even short shorts take on a funky look with a bright halter-top.

Melissa Goff: "Additionally, you're going to find short shorts with tunics, skinny pants with tunics and baby doll tops. One silhouette that's making a great comeback is going to be a maxi-dress in very graphic patterns."

From long to short, halter-mini dresses are hot in teal and fuchsia; but black and white graphic prints keep the Mod look in check.

To finish off the look, accessorize, accessorize, accessorize.

Melissa Goff: "Look for brightly colored patent shoes, great hoop earrings very oversized, ala Twiggy. You're going to find great lucite pieces to go with it as well."

At Tiki Boutique in Miami Shores, Mod is the word.

Alicia Kuhnke: "Mod -- it's a new trend, it's coming back. It was very hot in the 60s, 70s. You know, it's all about prints. It's here, it's hot."

Like this bold blue and yellow print dress.

Mod followers will also love this bright trapeze graphic dress.

So whether you go bright or black and white, you will always look hip.

Alicia Kuhnke: "Mod is definitely the bright colors -- the bright reds, bright yellows, white. If you have white in there, white. If you have on a white dress you could do bright red, yellow accessories."

So don't be afraid to go Mod -- just remember Mod isn't modest!

Alicia Kuhnke: "I would use it more like with a cocktail party, going out."

Diana Diaz: "Fashionistas say you can tone down the mod look by pairing a short dress over jeans and wearing less accessories."
