OK, fashionistas, get ready to pull up those pants or skirts or even shorts! As 7's Diana Diaz shows us in tonight's Fashion Forward, high waisted is one of spring's hottest trends!

WSVN -- Pee Wee Herman perfected the high-waisted look -- and now the look has gone from geek to chic.

At Studio LX in South Miami, the higher the waist the better!

Monica Hernandez: "The trend is very hot right now, most of the looks, wherever you walk into right now, any department store or any boutique, you're seeing high-waisted basically in every article of clothing that there is."

From jeans to skirts to shorts, the high-waisted look is everywhere you look.

And, if you don't find it, you can create it.

Monica Hernandez: "If you can't put a pair of high-waisted pants on, and you still want to complete the look, you can do the blouse with the belt and still get the look that you want with the high-waisted belt."

High-waisted pencil skirts look sharp with a crisp white blouse tucked in; a sparkly sundress pulls it off with an empire waste.

Or wrap a belt high around a retro-mini dress, like this one.

Even high-cut skinny capris look cute when you pair it with a tank top and pumps.

The good news -- the look looks good on most body types.

Monica Hernandez: "High-waisted, it has come in and out of the seasons and the trends, but right now it is very hot, and everyone can pull it off. There's no reason anyone can't."

At Rebel in Miami, everyone is looking for high waists.

Jake Shprecher: "You've seen a lot of 80s come back, high-waist is kind of more 70s, and you see the high-waist because it can be very, very flattering."

Like this crocheted empire baby-doll top coupled with cuffed shorts.

High-waist goes high-class with this black pencil skirt wrapped up with a satin ribbon belt or this trend-of-the-moment tent dress cinched with a belt above the waist.

Just remember to keep everything in balance.

Jake Shprecher: "If you're going to do big pants, a baggier trouser, wear a fitted top, if you're going to do a big top that's flowier, wear skinny jeans. Too much of one thing is never going to look right."

A good rule of thumb: Whatever the trend, try it on before you buy it to make sure it looks good on you. And, remember, when it comes to trends like this, a few pieces will go along way.
