Fashion Forward: Father's Day
Eight shopping days until Father's Day. If you're still trying to figure out what to give dear old dad, we'll show you why you can't go wrong by wrapping up some of this season's hottest trends. Seven's Diana Diaz is here to tell us how to make our Father's Fashion Forward.
WSVN -- The grill, the tie, the new tool, those are all great Father's Day gifts. But, this year, how about giving that deserving dad the gift of fashion?
Melissa Goff: "This father's day, it's all about the dad with style."
Macy's is just one store stocked with ways to make dad look good on his special day.
Melissa Goff: "Go for lightweight cottons, linens and then also go for a soft pastel palette, vibrant brights, and whites. These are the key colors and fabrics for Father's Day."
If you start the Celebration with a day of fun in the sun, how about trying on these summery swim trunks by Nautica? Or stay cool in something light and white, like this aqua polo and linen shorts by I.N.C.
Melissa Goff: "What's great for white in Florida is that it reflects the heat, so you have a tendency to stay cooler, which is great for dad if you're going to go to the ballpark, or if you're going to have a picnic."
And don't forget the feet. These summer sandals are sure to add some extra bounce to his step.
Melissa Goff: "Whether it's something to wear dockside, say from Sperry, or whether it's a very comfortable Rockport sandal, there's sandals for every dad this year."
Casual Male XL in North Miami Beach also has what it takes to help dad celebrate his day in style.
Kristen Pascucci: "Whether it be khaki pants to some Caribbean Joe floral shirts, we have some great polo tees. Collared shirts, maybe, if you're hitting the golf course or if your dad does."
You'll hit a hole-in-one by giving him one of these polos in his favorite color. But, when it's time to head out for that night on the town, dress him up in a pair of dark jeans by throwing a hip jacket over a solid crew neck tee.
Kristen Pascucci: "Some crew neck Ts that add that extra detail of ribbing that just make you look a little bit more dressed."
If you really want dad to dress to impress, get him this great suit by Comfort Zone. The best part? You can throw it in the washer!
Kristen Pascucci: "The jacket is $200 and the pants are $100, and you can actually wash them at home, so that takes care of the dry cleaning bills."
Whatever you decide to dress dad in for Father's Day, the secret to great style is simple.
Kristen Pascucci: "It's really just about being relaxed, being comfortable and looking great."
Diana Diaz: Also, if your special guy is already a fashion hit, accessories can always accent dad's outfit, too. Give a great watch or trendy cap to complete his look.
