Fashion Forward: Gray
If you think gray is dismal or drab, it's time to change your mind and update your wardrobe. The Nightteam's Diana Diaz shows us why going gray is Fashion Forward.
WSVN -- Don't save gray for a rainy day. Believe it or not, this color is a bright spot when it comes to the latest fashions. At Macy's at the Dadeland Mall, gray glitters with bold details and accessories.
Melissa Goff: "If you're going to add a new color or a new item to your wardrobe this fall, make sure it's in gray."
From jeans to dresses, gray takes you from casual to dressy in no time. Check out this gray shift dress with sequined trim and silver heels. Or this dark gray, cowl-neck mini dress with silver threading from Laundry. Match it with another hot fall trend, a circle pendant necklace.
Gray jeans look great with a matching sweater set, or throw in a bright color like these fuchsia pumps with black flower detail.
Melissa Goff: "Add a pop of color with your jewelry, your necklaces, the big bold cuffs and again a great pair of colored patent leather shoes."
Going all gray is also OK, like this shiny wrap dress with metallic strappy sandals. Button-up in a gray trench coat with large collar over matching pants, or double your pleasure in these elegant looks by Donna Karen New York.
Melissa Goff: "A great sophisticated way to wear gray is a very monochromatic head-to-toe gray-on-gray."
At Rebel in Miami gray goes glam.
Lauren Monteagudo: "From everyday wear to night wear, we have gray leggings with a gray sweater, or people are doing a gray top with wide-legged jeans or skinnies."
Try these gray skinny jeans and matching tunic. Throw on a pair of lucite-heels and a black clutch.
Or slip on dark denim by Paige with a black tank top under a light gray cropped jacket, or dress up black, skinny pants with a gray cami with hardware detailing.
Lauren Monteagudo: "A lot of people probably think of gray as dowdy and not so much as a hip color, but, basically now, the way Sheri Bodell is bringing it in, with sequined detailing or hardware detailing, it dresses up the color."
This Samantha Tracy dress pops with red patent leather pumps and matching clutch. Another reason to feel good about gray? It works well with almost any skin tone.
Lauren Monteagudo: "You can wear it with a darker skin tone or a lighter skin tone. It's just a great color. It's easy for everyone."
Diana Diaz: "You can mix almost any color with gray, from yellow to red to purple to black. Choose a combination that fits your own personal style."
