Tis the season for traveling and that always raises the question, what should I pack? The nighttime's Diana Diaz shows us how to arrive at our destination in style in tonight's Fashion Forward.
WSVN -- If you are dreaming of a white Christmas or traveling to colder climates for the holidays, you'll want to make sure you look cool but stay warm when you walk off the plane.
The stylists at Shop Daja in Fort Lauderdale say you don't have to waste money on a winter wardrobe you'll never wear in sunny South Florida.
Danielle Filler: "Just know what climate you're going into and you don't have to rob the bank getting really thick wool sweaters that are hard to layer and then you're never going to wear them again down here."
The key to traveling in style is layering start with a colorful mini-dress by Puella paired with flats, it's perfect for South Florida too, but if you're headed say to San Francisco, add gray cords by J-Brand, tuck into boots and throw on a brown leather cropped-bomber jacket for warmth.
You can hit the airport in comfort with a pair of black high rise jeans and a long-sleeved T-shirt, and when you land add a faux fur jacket, scarf and boots and you're ready for a blast of wintry weather.
Danielle Filler: "You can use what's already in your closet, but layer it up, change up the look, so you get a heavier feel to keep you warm."
You'll feel toasty in a trendy pea coat by Daftbird over a striped racer-back tank and leggings in navy, wear with high boots and grab a big red tote for all your carry-on essentials, and when you get back home to South Florida.
Simply lose the jacket and switch from boots to flats this red v-neck long-sleeved dress, is great for the holiday party with heels add black tights and boots if you're headed up north or slip on a pair of skinny jeans a travel must-have.
Danielle Filler: "If it's warm you can put a ballerina flat, a flip flop or a strappy sandal, in the colder climates you can put on a high boot, they fit right in they're not uncomfortable."
And we know comfort is key when you're traveling a black and white. Shift dress is easy to wear with ballet flats add a black jacket, tights and boots for a Broadway show in the big apple. A sexy tunic like this one by Mara Hoffman is always perfect for a South Beach nightclub with navy cords and oxford booties, you can go out to dinner in the northeast in style.
Danielle Filler: "Work with what you have, work with what's in the stores in Florida, and layer, layer, layer and you'll be good to go."
Diana Diaz: "Another travel tip, make sure you pack fabrics that don't easily wrinkle. You don't want to waste any vacation time ironing clothes."
