Fashion Forward: Tribal Trend
Taking on the tribal trend isn't just about wearing a leopard printed shirt! As the nightteam's Diana Diaz shows us, from colorful tops to cargo pants, "Fashion Forward" goes safari-chic!
WSVN -- OK, it would be pretty cool to go on an African safari, but you don't have to travel to the other side of the world to rock the look of the wild!
Just head to Macy's at Aventura Mall for that safari-chic look.
Melissa Goff: "You can take it to its true literal meaning, or you can add pieces of either a tribal influence or a safari-esque influence into your wardrobe for spring."
Go subtle in a silk sleeveless top in shades of pink and red, with brown cropped skinny pants with gladiator sandals.
Or go all out in a zebra print dress in brown and white. A good tip for this tribal trend, is to try walking shorts and cargo pants.
Melissa Goff: "A great khaki walk short or Bermuda short, great new items as far as a cargo pant, a very fitted cargo pant."
A safari jacket is a must in an earthy tone like brown. Keep it cropped and belted. Or brighten up in a cropped orange jacket over brown wide-legged pants.
Talk about a tribal influence in an orange sundress with crochet detail and a big beaded necklace. Or slip on one of this season's must-haves, a shirt dress!
Melissa Goff: "One of the workhorses this season that everybody needs to add to their wardrobe, is going to be a shirt dress."
At A Nose for Clothes in Pinecrest, the safari-look sizzles because it's so easy to wear!
Erin Melican: "Because it incorporates all of the natural fibers, linens, cottons, they are all so breathable, wearable."
You will be ready for anything in a white safari top tied at the waist over brown linen pants. Throw on an African-inspired necklace and a big leather tote in mustard yellow. A halter top in a colorful jungle print looks great over black Capri walking shorts. Or try cargo pants with a sequined embellished tank top.
Erin Melican: "Wear it with a little pair of heels, make it a little more sophisticated, it doesn't have to look like you're going out on a safari."
Dress it up in a Moraccan-inspired jersey dress in orange, red, black and cream. Or go bohemian in a strapless Indian-inspired dress with gold beaded jewelry and a woven tote.
And you can always bring jeans into the tribal trend with a printed halter top.
Erin Melican: "The whole concept is to mix, not just to wear one particular look from head to toe."
If you're still not sure how to add a tribal influence to your wardrobe, just add a piece of jewelry like a chunky wooden necklace or a couple of woven bangles.
