Anyone who loves fashion can't deny designer Roberto Cavalli's clothes are distinct, wild, and totally rock and roll. But now, he's serving up his latest venture "on the rocks" right here in South Florida. Shireen Sandoval explains in tonight's Fashion Forward.
WSVN--Beyonce Knowles looked stunning in this Roberto Cavalli gown at the 2005 Grammy Awards. Former Posh Spice, Victoria Beckham is a big fan too. For more than 40 years, the fashion designer has been dressing and impressing the world with his style. Recently, I caught up with the fashion powerhouse during a South Beach stop to promote his latest venture, Roberto Cavalli Vodka.
Roberto Cavalli: "Oh what is this? It's a snake, oh. it's a snake. Oh it's a snake, I thought you were saying naked, but I like that too! (laughs)."
Cavalli's signature snake is not only on his vodka bottle. At his Bal Harbour Boutique, you'll find the insignia on everything from perfumes... To shoes... To belts... And of course, his glam and sexy fashion. Cavalli says his collection is about making a woman not only look, but feel good.
Roberto Cavalli: "There are many elements in a designer collection has to be easy, has to be sexy, has to be colorful."
Celebrities around the world, like J Lo, Paris Hilton and even rocker Bon Jovi wear Cavalli's ornate designs. A single piece alone can run thousands if not tens of thousands of dollars! During this one-on-one interview, I couldn't resist asking a fashionistas number one question...
Roberto Cavalli: "What's in for spring? For spring, I just showed my collection a few days ago, now it's very free, very free collection. Something very long, a lot of skirts."
So to that we say...
Roberto Cavalli: "Tell me what to say in Italian? In Italian we say chi chin or salute or Salute."
Roberto Cavalli vodka costs about 60-dollars a bottle.
