We're a little more than a week away from the start of another new year. But whether you're planning to ring in 2006 at a casual get together or a big ball, you've got to look your best in tonight's Fashion Forward, 7's Shireen Sandoval is showing us what to wear on New Year's Eve.
WSVN--It is almost time to say goodbye to 2005 and hello to 2006. But if you're planning a big bash, don't just be the life of the party, why not be the best dressed too.
Katharine Rubino: "New Year's is a fun time to go out and when you go out for New Year's you always want to look your best."
At Neiman Marcus in Coral Gables, it's easy to be a standout. If you're heading to a club or a casual party, it's all about jeans. Just make sure you glam it up.
Katharine Rubino: "Throw on like a sequin top, great long necklaces, great big earrings, big rings, you know, something to dress it up a little bit."
You'll want to sparkle too. Jewel tones, gold, and beading are must haves.
Katharine Rubino: "This year you're really going to see a lot of metallics and golds and silvers and luxe and luxurious fabrics."
If you're heading to a cocktail party, pick a pretty dress like this gorgeous print by zac posen. For a really fancy party, make a statment with a long evening gown.
Katharine Rubino: "There's nothing you should stay away from on New Year's. This is your time, to have a good time, to ring in the new year and anything goes."
At Wish Boutique in Hollywood, it's all about mixing and matching.
Joann Bertolino: "We're seeing everything across the board, from jeans, to dresses, skirts, pantsuits."
Pair your jeans with a sparkly black top...Go for the gold in this sequin halter top...Or show off your wild side in an animal print.
Joann Bertolino: "For new years we want to see something big and bold so, lots of like rhinestones, long necklaces, um, even chokers they're showing all sorts."
But if you're a little more conservative, pantsuits and the little black dress are always in.
Joann Bertolino: "That same little black dress will take you anywhere, but especially if you throw it on with this season's hot little shrugs with lots of glitz and glamour."
Ladies, don't forget to carry along your essentials in a pretty metallic or multi-colored rhinestone purse.
