American flags. Backyard barbeques. Parades and fireworks, that's what the 4th of July is all about! But before you head to the celebration, make sure you do it in style. Shireen Sandoval shows us some fashions for the fourth in tonight's Fashion Forward.
WSVN--Fireworks make a big bang every Fourth of July... And this year, your outfit should too.
Isaac Vidaurre: "You're definitely looking for very patriotic motifs, anything that has the flag on it."
At Old Navy, you'll find plenty of ways to salute old glory. From t-shirts...To tunics...To tube tops, the star spangled banner never looked better. And you can find most of the season's trendiest cuts in fourth of July colors.
Isaac Vidaurre: "You're definitley looking for those basic colors of red white and blue."
If you're starting the fourth at the beach, try a red, white and blue bikini. Or pair some capris with a stylish tank or tee. At Old Navy, they have everything from festive flip flops to pajamas for everyone in the family.
Isaac Vidaurre: "All of our outfits, all of our merchandise is created and geared around being able to mix and match. Fourth of July in South Florida is about comfort."
At a nose for clothes in Pinecrest, you can sparkle this independence day. Pair an americana print shirt with a denim knee short. Or glam up a pair of jeans with a silk chiffon top.
Freda Greenbaum: "The 4th of july is about friends and family and being together with people that you love to spend time with but you have to be comfortable and you have to be happy."
Try a white skirt with a bejeweled tank top. Or go for a more western look, by pairing a denim skirt with an embroidered shirt and jacket. The good news -- the look isn't just for the fourth, it can take you through summer.
Freda Greenbaum: "Just like barbeques can have black bean salsa on them in south florida, you dont need to just wear denim and a white t-shirt anymore. Spice up your outfit and use all the new trends."
So whether you're wearing red, white or blue... Hats off to lady liberty. One last tip: It's easy to change your outfit, just by changing your accessories.
