Well giddy up little doggies. Head west for the prairie chic look and you'll look good right here in South Florida.

(WSVN) You don't need the horse -- but you can think of the prarie chic look as an updated urban cowgirl kind of thing.  and if you play your fashion cards right this look can work until the cows come home.

Melissa Goff of Burdines says, "The great thing about prarie is that it can go from summer to wear now look, but it goes all the way into fall...just add a different jacket add a demin top it's a look what will take you all the way into January of next year..."

So what's the one key piece you should think about getting right now...the prairie skirt...

"I like the prairie skirts. They're really comfortable and really stylish and they go great with everything..."

Go with a long denim skirt from Burdines

A tiered skirt

Or something lacy for that petticoat feel.

Long skirts not your thing--short works too.
Just make sure it's got a little flair.

Once you've got the right skirt you can add tops and accessories to be as Western as you wanna be.

Want the look without being too wild wild wild west then head over to the Adolfo Dominguez boutique on South Beach.

Pair up a denim pant suit

Do a denim tank top and skirt

Or throw on a corset and a long denim skirt with red stitching.

You can always add a fringed belt

Or some fun denim shoes to your outfit so you can hit the giddy up in style.
