Fashion Forward: Stripes
Everybody wants a wardrobe that enhances their figure. Our advice: forget simple and solid, instead try going with something striped.
Striped Dolce and Gabanna slacks look great, especially if your 6 feet tall and a supermodel. But what if you're a real woman then what?
Melissa Goff, from Burdines, says "It's a matter of what style you actually purchase and how you put it all together. And stripes can be very slenderizing very, very flattering."
Dresses, skirts, tops even swimsuits, stripe it rich at Burdines and find your most flattering look.
Got something you want to flaunt - go with a horizontal stripe.
"If you want to add curves say you've got a little boy type figure slim hips put the horizontal stripe there..."
Put vertical stripes in the places you want to minimize, but the stripe that'll work best for any figure is the diagonal stripe.
"Why is diagonal more slenderizing? It creates an illusion with the eye so it's more slanted type visual so your eye is really not going to one particular area..."
Stressing about which striped look to get. Make a bee line for Kristine Michael in South Miami for your best bet: pants with vertical stripes.
Pick a color any color, stripes are hot. So you, the fashion diva has plenty to choose from.
Dinah Drier, Kristine Michael, says "They haven't seen stripes in a while they're alot of florals and dittzy prints for alot of time and I think we're a little floraled out and they're ready for something new..."
