Fashion Forward: Hot Swimwear
Memorial Day is right around the corner and that means the newest looks in swimwear are hitting store shelves.
Sand, sun, and surf... it's the perfect time to talk about swimsuits..
Kate Dimmock, Marie Claire Magazine, says "It's really a season where anything goes there's alot of choices out there..."
We chose South Beach's National Hotel to show off some of the latest styles from Jantzen. The company has been selling siwmsuits since 1910.
But in 2002 retro graphic suits are what's hot. Pick up the pieces in a dramatic print with a plunging neckline or a high-neck halter with a keyhole front to show off just a little skin.
If skin is your thing, then how about a bikini. Go for something skimpy that rides low on the hips with side ties.
You can grab a bikini with push-up pads for a little added umph, or classic cut made from fabric that looks and feels like suede but is perfect for swimming.
Then there's Janztenz' ever popular tankini suit, that gives you the feel of a bikini with the coverage of a one piece. It flatters practically every figure.
Lori Medici, from Supreme International, says "I think its for a woman that still wants to show some skin not that brave enought to wear a bikini but still wants to have some coverage..."
Dive into Mermaids Swimwear Boutique in South Miami for your best bets.
Lounging by the pool, you'll look fabulous in a two piece with an embellished top or how about a red hot white bikini.
"Some people stay away from white because they think, 'oh it gets wet,' 'it's gonna be see through,' is that the case?"
Jessica Corry, Mermaids Swimwear, says "Alot of my swimwear lines use really good fabrics and they're pretty well lined they won't be transparent."
But right now belted suits are the biggest thing.
"The belted swimsuits are really in fashion really low rise, very cute just like the jeans that are in style right now very hipster. most swimsuits coming in fashion like that..."
Just remember when you buy a swimsuit, forget about the fashion and forget about the models. Just get the one that's right for you.
"Everybody wants the perfect figure but there's no such thing.."
As long as you're comfortable in the bathing suit - that's all that counts.
