Remember the days when gym class consisted of climbing rope. Well today, exercise is an experience you buy in a catalog. In tonight's Gadgets and Gizmos, we have the latest toys to make your workout more exciting and less trying.

WSVN--There's no doubt people in South Florida like to stay fit. But if your workout routine is feeling a little too routine, maybe it's time to mix things up. Swim, bike, and run. If you feel like you're sweating to the oldies, maybe it's time to rearrange your routine. Today, getting in shape is taking on a whole new shape. Just look at this bicycle. Yes, this is a bicycle. It's called the drifter by diamond back it's geared for people in their 30's, 40's, and 50's who suffer from back pain. But don't let looks fool you. For three hundred dollars, this low rider can still pack some pedal power.

Fitness Expert Gretta Blackburn: "They are just cool. They are just fun and it makes you feel like a kid again."

Or how about these running shoes? Marathoner Nick Boyko's always looking for an edge. He agreed to try out kangoo jumps. For another three hundred dollars, they promise to help you burn calories while taking the stress off your knees.

Marathon Runner Nick Boyko: "I think this is a good idea for kids. I think it's a fun thing to try out. People who are younger who have more flexibility."

But what do you do if you're running and you run out of steam. Well forget power bars. Jelly belly is now selling sport beans. They look like jelly beans but they're packed with electrolytes, vitamins c, and vitamin e.

Nick Boyko: "Delicious."

After a three-mile run, the beans were just the snack Nick needed.

Nick Boyko: "I've got a boost of energy. I can continue running. It's good. I would use these definitely."

But what if Nick's looking for cardio with a contemporary twist. Well now, you can go in-line skating anywhere. Gate skate has created the all-terrain trail skate. It can go over any type of service - dirt, gravel, and mountain trail. And with hand-controlled hydraulic brakes, it's easy to stop quickly. And finally, what better way to cool off then going for a swim. But if you can't see underwater because you wear glasses or contacts, try out aqua goggles. They are prescription swim goggles individually designed for every athlete. And according to swimmer Michael Rice, they not only look good, they feel good.

Fort Lauderdale Aquatics Michael Rice: "They didn't leak at all and they stayed on tight. They worked very well."

Now that's what they mean when they seeing is believing. Now for those of you who are interested, the way aqua goggles work is you choose the style you want and then enter your eyeglass prescription online.
