Gretta's Got It: Dress on a Dime
Everyone wants to be as stylish as the stars, but few of us have the cash to pull it off. Seven's Style Reporter Gretta Monahan shows us you can be stylish on a dime -- you just have to know how to do it right.
WSVN -- Whether you want to look city chic, weekend casual, or one for a big night out, you can splurge like a star or dress on a dime."
But the key is how to do it right.
"So, can you guess? Is this lux or is it less? Or is this the splurge or steal?
I am going to show you three of the hottest looks but it's up to you to figure out which is the real deal. Let's check out our first look -- "Care Free Weekend Casual."
If you guessed the celebrity splurge is on the left -- you guessed right!
Jen is wearing a Barbara Bui top -- you don't need a necklace because this one comes with it. She's wearing Michael Kors capris, Chloe heels, Chanel shades and the Balenciaga hobo bag.
And this is the most popular bag in Hollywood. The Olsen twins have it in every color.
The grand total for this haute couture, $3,345.
But you don't have to have the twins paycheck to step out in style.
This is the Less look. So we have on her extra wide aviator-shaped glasses. We have on a romantic blouse inspired from runway. We have on the cargo capris, and a woven belt.
Our look for less is prairie style blouse and sunglasses are from French Connection. They work with "goucho" pants, a belt and bag, all from the Gap -- and these strappy sandals are Banana Republic.
So this chic weekend look you can do for $480, head to toe.
Our City Chic look is guaranteed to heat up the streets -- but which look is which?
This is our Less look -- we copied a designer look, and we did it on a dime.
The top -- jeans, belt and bag are all from the Gap. The espadrille shoes are from Banana Republic and the shades from H&M.
I don't think you're giving up anything on the style -- Nikki's less look is $216.49.
And now for the designer duds -- the shirt and belt are Barbara Bui, while the jeans that are a must-have this season are from Chloe, along with the shoes. The outfit is accessorized with a Lloyd Maish bag and Blinde sunglasses!
You'll see Madonna in Blinde shades.
How much would you pay to look like a star?
For this look, it will cost you $3,060, head to toe.
Which outfit has a price you'll fall in love with?
This is Stacey's lux look.
Her dress is from Miu Miu, paired with Michael Kors shoes and a Turn Vintage necklace. She's wearing wrap-around Blinde sunglasses and carrying a Jimmy Choo clutch.
Stacey's head to toe Lux look would cost you $2,320.
Dress and shoes are both from Banana Republic, the sunglasses from French Connection and the necklace and clutch are from the Express.
You can get Stacey's spring steal for $382.
The key to lux or less is flip and find your favorite styles, tear them out and take them with you on your next shopping spree.
