All Gretta's Got It

Summer is just around the corner, and with the heat and humidity, comes the frizz. Want to know how to tame your locks, so they'll stay smooth throughout the season? Gretta's Got It!

WSVN -- I look forward to summer all year long, but what I don't look forward to is bad summer hair. So I've got a few tricks of my own to show you, but I want to talk to my pals over here because they have the latest and greatest on how to battle the frizz.

Gretta Monahan: "Cookie, how are you girl? I want to know what your latest tips and tricks are for dealing with the summer frizz."

Cookie: "Well, I think some of my clients they complain about the humidity and trying to tame it. So I think the best thing to do is to go the natural way -- go the sexy Victoria Secret way with spray shine. It gives you the nice gloss. Put a little serum in it. If it has a little gloss it looks shiny. It looks nice, it's sexy."

You want to use a spray gloss on fine hair. You want to use an actual pump or liquid. This is going to give you a heavier silicone, which is going to be better for a thicker, heavier hair-type.

Nobody knows this, but you have to start by changing your shampoo and conditioner. You can't use the same thing you've been using all winter long because it doesn't work once the temperature rises.

If you've tried everything and nothing's working, then you're just like me -- you need the big guns. This is a salon-only treatment -- it's expensive, but it works.

It has no cream; it's just straight protein and conditioner. It also doesn't add any weight at all, so, if your hair is fine, you won't have that gummy feeling.

Two secret weapons of mine: A ceramic brush and a hot blow-dryer.

If you have golden locks or color-treated hair, you have to take extra special care. Now, it used to be that you had to wear a hat or be under an umbrella -- you don't have to do that anymore. You can actually work with products that have SPF in them.

And if you're a drug store diva, do not fear -- for under $10 you can get great things to protect you from the frizz and fly-aways.
