Gretta's Got It: Skincare Tips for Men
Just about everyone wants younger, healthier looking skin, and men are no exception, but many guys don't know a thing about skincare. Today, our style maven's got some tips just for us. Gretta's Got It!
WSVN -- Men's skincare is one of the fastest growing industries. Why should all the girls have all the fun all along? I am going to show you the best ways for men to take care of men's skin.
Dr. Jeffrey Dover, creator of Skin Effects: "Men are getting much more interested in taking care of themselves."
Hollywood's hottest men do what it takes to have great skin, and now. It's easy for even the regular Joe.
Gretta Monahan, 7 Style Expert: "I'm talking way beyond shaving cream and aftershave."
Dr. Jeffrey Dover, creator of Skin Effects: "Toners, cleansers, sunscreens and other products, which actually make skin look better, but they're made specifically for men."
Gretta Monahan: "The first thing you need to do is define your skin type. You'll either have dry or oily skin."
Gretta Monahan: "If you're dry, you need to moisturize, and I mean extra moisturize. And if you're oily, you still need to moisturize but make it oil-free. If you have normal skin, you're lucky because you can use just about anything. If you need help, ask a professional. They'll tell your skin type and recommend products."
Dr. Jeffrey Dover: "Men like thinner things. They like gels. They don't like heavy creams."
Gretta Monahan:"Daily washing and moisturizing is a must but skip the soap."
Sherri Bence, esthetician: "The problem with using soap is that it clogs the skin."
Gretta Monahan: "OK, guys, now don't be scared off because you think treatments are girly. They're a necessity. Spa treatments give your skin a deep cleaning, help to exfoliate, hydrate and feel great. So, come on, fellas, really, you don't want to say no to this. This is one of the best treats around. Remember, even a great face can have blemish.
Gretta Monahan: "Remember those days as a pimply teen? Well, even grown men are prone to breakouts but don't pick."
Gretta Monahan: "A mask or scrub, even high frequency machines can zap a zit in seconds."
Next up, you need a preventative routine. This means anti-aging. Just like women, men are fighting father time, so slather on the SPF and use products with antioxidants.
Sherri Bence, esthetician: "They're going to help to save your skin over time, preventing the signs of fine lines and wrinkles."
Gretta Monahan: "And you don't have to pay top dollar for top skincare, so if the thought of a spa or going into the department store makes you say, 'No way,' no worries! You can come right here to your neighborhood drug store because now you have an entire section just for you."
