All Gretta's Got It

Back to school shopping can be a nightmare for a lot of reasons. But Seven's style reporter has advice so you can seem like the coolest parent on the block. Gretta's Got It.

WSVN -- Gretta Monahan: "So it's that time of year again. So, parents, for you to make the grade, you've got to know what the kids want to go back to school smiling and styling."

Gretta Monahan: "So to find out what's cool for back to school, we're going to visit my friend Jeanie at Cool Jane Boutique."

Jeannie Scatzberg: "Girls don't want to look like little girls anymore, they want to look more sophisticated. What manufacturers have done is take the contemporary market and shrunken it."

Gretta Monahan: "I know, mom, that you're worried the kids will be too sexy, but, don't worry, the adult version is a little more open. Look here, Lindsey has a nice extra piece of fabric filling, so she can wear something that's more feminine, but she's covered up."

Gretta Monahan: "Who are the hot designers?"

Jeannie Scatzberg: "You have to have Junk Food, Trunk, rock and roll T-shirts. Ed Hardy is back in a very, very big way."

Gretta Monahan: "Let's see you, kiddo. I love this T-shirt because it's extra long. I love the color. Now is this pretty much fine with jeans to go to school?"

Jeannie Scatzberg: "As far as denim goes, True Religion, Seven. They come in the door, they ask for that."

Jeannie Scatzberg: "She's wearing Sevens, and this have a little touch of bling on the back pocket."

Gretta Monahan: "Bling on the butt, I love that. I love it."

Gretta Monahan: "OK, moms and dads, if you're child wears a uniform, you're not off the hook. The way you're going to do it is all with accessories and cool backpacks, the bling Jeanie was talking about. All of this makes the same old uniform new again."

Jeannie Scatzberg: "They like to come in here, get a great back pack, get a fabulous pair of shoes, whether it be Vans or Harry Jukoo or Ed Hardy. Accessorize themselves, and they're off."

Gretta Monahan: "No more basics. You can pick whatever peace sign you want."

Gretta Monahan: "There's a lot of bling here and it's not too much. I love it. It's done in a tasteful way."

Gretta Monahan: "So, hopefully, now you'll get even better grades from the kids, because you know what's hot and what's not for back to school. I'm Gretta for Gretta's got it."
