All Gretta's Got It

All across the country, cool fall weather is settling in. Here in South Florida we don't feel that seasonal change, but that doesn't mean you can't change up your wardrobe, and our style-maven Gretta Monahan's Got It.

WSVN -- Gretta Monahan: "Flipping through the fashion magazines I can tell fall is around the corner, and the hottest looks sure are heavy. But even though the weather doesn't change here in South Florida it doesn't mean your wardrobe can't."

Gretta Monahan: "So I am here at one of my favorite shops in Fort Lauderdale, Shop Deja, because they have the perfect pieces for you to get your best fall look."

Gretta Monahan: "One of the hottest trends on the fall runways is big, chunky wool knits, over tights with boots. We're obviously not doing that here in South Florida, but there's an alternative."

Gretta Monahan: "This is a perfect way to trick the look: thin knit, single ply, cheat it with cotton, do a short sleeve, add a little belt and get rid of the tights."

Gretta Monahan: "Another way to get the look, Ts and tanks that are in knit. This is easy, pick up one of these, put it with a classic pencil skirt, and there you go."

Gretta Monahan: "Fall boots, high, low, above-the-knee and heavy. Thought you couldn't wear the boots in the Sunshine State? Wrong. Just think low-cut bootie."

Gretta Monahan: "Second biggest look is the modern layered pantsuit, and this is a great way to do it here in South Florida."

Gretta Monahan: "Keep your knit light-weight and really sexy and sleeveless."

Gretta Monahan: "The little jacket looks heavy, but it's really light. The short sleeves give it a very light look. The knit is practically tissue-weight, and the pant is heavy looking but light in weight."

Gretta Monahan: "Another big look this year is men's wear: trousers, vests, heavy fabrics, wools, even a layered look. Taylored jackets that's what it's all about, so here is a great alternative. You can do the men's wear look but instead of a trouser try a shorts."

Gretta Monahan: "If you don't want to do the men's wear look on the bottom start with the top. Vests, my favorite, you can do a little bit of a vest that looks men's wear-inspired, but it's got all these feminine details."

Gretta Monahan: "Fall is not just about style and fabrics. It's also about color. Summer blue, fall/winter blue. Summer yellow, fall/winter yellow. Summer pink, fall/winter pink. See what I mean, just a subtle shift in hue gives you the fall color."

Gretta Monahan: "You know what? In the whole grand theme of things, I'm glad we don't have to wear this in South Florida. I'm Gretta for Gretta's got it."
