All Gretta's Got It

When it comes to wanting to look good in a perfect pair of jeans, don't leave the guys out. It's important not only to women but also to men to find the right fit in denim, and Gretta's Got It!

Gretta Monahan: "OK, I've got a little secret for you. Guys care just as much as they look in jeans as we girls, so today, guys, it's all about you. I'm going to take you in and help you find the perfect fit."

Gretta Monahan: "Hi, how are you, honey?"

Chuck Wilson: "Ready to go shopping?"

Gretta Monahan: "I am ready. Let's do it. Come on, let's go."

Gretta Monahan: "Here's a quick education on the four basic jean styles. The first one is skinny. You can see you go a little bit thicker. Now you're into straight. Even thicker, you have a boot leg, and the thickest is the flare."

Gretta Monahan: "What makes you select a specific brand for a customer?"

Chuck Wilson: "Usually, their body type, and you get to see all the different kinds of denim."

Chuck Wilson: "This is a jean from Diesel, and it's a boot-cut, and the reason it works really well with him because AJ's a taller guy and a little bit bigger, so what this does, the boot flair, it's casual. It kind of balances him out and gives him an even proportion all the way down."

Gretta Monahan: "Your focus should always be playing up what's good and hiding what's bad."

Chuck Wilson: "5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches is a good height for a skinny jean. He's also a thinner build, so it works really well with him."

Gretta Monahan: "And, believe it or not, it's all about illusion. Pockets can be your secret weapon."

Chuck Wilson: "This is a jean with a smaller pocket, and for the guy who doesn't have any butt, a smaller pocket focuses in on that area and gives you some kind of shape."

Chuck Wilson: "The pocket on this jean is a little larger, and he has a little larger rear end, so it kind of balances it out."

Gretta Monahan: "And, guys, this is your biggest jeans 'don't.'"

Gretta Monahan: "Now, talk to me about the details, as far the rises and things like that. What are you seeing in men?

Chuck Wilson: "Most men's jeans these days are probably more of a mid rise. The lower rise is kind of a thing of the past."

Gretta Monahan: "Dark denim is going to feel a little bit different because the dark denim has dye in it, so expect it to feel a little stiffer to the touch. The other trick with dark, turn them inside out, wash them in cold and try not to dry them in the dryer."

Gretta Monahan: "And you can see with designer denim it's all about the details. What distinguishes you and your denim from somebody else? In the front you might have plain, but in the back you have something to say."

Gretta Monahan: "OK, well, clearly the jean fit matters, and I'm Gretta, and I definitely got it."
