All Gretta's Got It

Doing some last-minute costume shopping for Halloween? Our style expert shows us how to pull together a great look with a little effort. Gretta's Got It.

WSVN -- So Halloween is right around the corner. Forget fashion for this one day and lets take a walk on the wild side.

Gretta Monahan: "What are you going to be this year?"

Woman: "I have no idea."

One great thing about stores like Halloween Express is that employees actually show you what the costumes are going to look like.

Gretta Monahan: "The police woman, always classic. But this is good. It has a lot going on. You've got your hat, a little belt. Naturally, you have to have these [handcuffs]. I don't know what they're for. I'm not going to ask any questions."

Gretta Monahan: "This is bad. This is very bad. Basically in two pieces, hat, zip-up. You can wear anything under there you want, and you're comfortable, cool and bad."

Being a witch always works, obviously.

Gretta Monahan: "This is great. You went all out. See, you can go with something form-fitting or go in layers. It all works."

A big trend this year is group costumes. If you're going with a few people you might as well make a statement. Try going as the Flintstones, for instance.

If you are shopping last minute, you're best bet is to buy a complete costume in a bag. I know what you are thinking: bag costumes are boring. No, they're not. You just have to add the extra accessories.

Gretta Monahan: "She's got something there to beat someone up if they get a little problematic."

If you can't find your size, always buy a size up. You can use safety pins to take the waist in.

Gretta Monahan: "So don't try to use your everyday makeup to get the look for Halloween. You may have to go with a kit like this, but, remember, practice makes perfect. Try it out before the big party."

Woman: "I got it. I got it. That's what I wanted. That's what I wanted. I wanted Sylvester."

Gretta Monahan: "She found her dream outfit. I love it."

Seeing all these characters come to life has even inspired me.

Gretta Monahan: "Jorge, how do I look as a blond?"

Gretta Monahan: "OK, this is it. I think I will surely be the most unique this year. Whatever. I'm Gretta for Gretta's Got It."
