Gretta's Got It: Eco Chic
Green living seems to be seeping into every aspect of our lives and fashion is no exception. You can manage to look good and save the environment at the same time. Gretta's got it.
WSVN -- Gretta Monahan: "It used to be to dress environmentally friendly meant you gave up a lot. You gave up style, you had to pay too much, and it was really hard to find. Well, guess what? That's all changed and the hottest boutiques in the country are picking up on the trend."
Gretta Monahan: "We're here at HipE Boutique. I love it, its one of my favorites, and they have a few lines to choose from."
Gretta Monahan: "This one is Sworn Virgins. For instance and this one is bamboo, and the reason that is eco-friendly is that is a renewable resource."
Gretta Monahan: "I love these, because they're soft comfortable and chic."
Gretta Monahan: "There's a million ways to go to be eco-chic, but one of the easiest is organic cotton."
Gretta Monahan: "So what does organic mean? It means there were no harsh chemicals used, such as pesticides to grow this cotton."
Gretta Monahan: "So if you want to be casual and conserve, that's cool. We have a khaki top, this is from Burning Torch. It's all recycled and it's not your average one. They even put floral design in here that was great for the runway."
Gretta Monahan: "Believe it or not, this was once all different scarves which have been sewn together. You can see here, there's little buttons, perfect little trim. You don't feel like you're wearing a sack."
Gretta Monahan: "So as you can see, eco-chic can even be dressed up and glam. Here we have a top from Eko-logic. This is the bubble top, and burning torch pants. I love these pants because of the little details."
Gretta Monahan: "So who ever said you can't wear cotton out on the town, you can in these."
Gretta Monahan: "In the past, eco-fashions were limited to dull drab colors, but not anymore. Now there are special dyes used so they can be bold and bright."
Gretta Monahan: "So here is Mari, She is the owner of HipE Boutique and I know you're excited because you go all over to find new things too. What's the newest rage in environmentally friendly fashion?"
Mari: "Well we found this line in L.A. and it's called Love Heals. Every time you buy one of these products, they plant ten trees to give back to our planet."
Gretta Monahan: "So now it's easy to add a little eco to your style. From jewelry to sweaters, to tees, to jeans. Now you can do it because you have plenty of options and it's affordable. I'm Gretta for Gretta's Got It."
