All Gretta's Got It

Dresses come in all shapes and sizes, whether it's fun and flirty or simple and chic. Throw one on and step out in style this season. Our style expert Gretta Monahan has the top picks in Gretta's Got It.

WSVN -- Gretta Monahan: "To get a head start on the hottest trend this season, you'll need to zip up a new dress. OK, I know what you're thinking, dresses are always in, right? Well, they are, but this season's styles are brand new."

Bright colors, floral prints, safari and nautical looks should be on every fashionista's wishlist.

Stephanie: "I wouldn't say that one is better than the other or more trendy than the other."

To be bold and beautiful you've got to start with color.

Stephanie: "Brights are huge this season, and I love this red."

Gretta Monahan: "I love it too. You know you can do color in one bold statement."

So turn up the heat with something red hot, a great pair of gold heels and clutch, and you are good to go.

If color coordinating your accessories gives you the blues...

Stephanie: "Be very simple. You don't need to go over the top."

Next, go neutral and head to the jungle.

Gretta Monahan: "And the safari look is as hot as the dessert, and this one is a cinch to make your own."

A classic safari dress gets a gold stamp with these great gladiator sandals, also a season must.

Stephanie: "This is where Diane Von Furstenburg has taken her safari. You can see here she's added the color, a lot more feminine, a lot more fun, a lot more features going on here."

Gretta Monahan: "I love this, you guys, because this unties, so you have a straight dress underneath, but you have that extra sexy wrap, which also helps if you eat a little too much desert."

You need a yacht to go nautical.

Gretta Monahan: "What I don't like is when you look like the Good Ship Lollipop."

Stephanie: "What we're seeing this season is that the lines are a lot cleaner. Silhouettes are a lot more flattering, figure flattering. A lot of the styles you can take from day to evening just by doing a few accessory changes, so I really like the way it looks this year. It's not good ship lollipop."

Another trick to getting decked out...

Gretta Monahan: "So you can wear just a classic cardigan, but if you want to take it from frumpy to fab, turn it into a little shrug. All you have to do is button the buttons together and let that hang in the back."

Don't forget to pick some flowers. Floral prints are flirty and fun.

Gretta Monahan: "Everyone thinks that when you wear flowers they're not sexy, and this is such a sexy look."

Pull on a pair of heels and a clutch and you are ready to go, and flowers don't have to over power.

Stephanie: "There's a tendency to think of florals in very bright, bright colors, but here we're showing it in very neutral tones."

Gretta Monahan: "I think the other trick is mixing large flowers and small, and it gives you the illusion of slimming, along with the fact that this is a slim silhouette. Great Choice."

So this season, to impress all you need is a dress. I'm Gretta, for Gretta's got it.
