Gretta's Got It: Beach Bag Basics

WSVN -- Gretta Monahan: "There's nothing I like more than hanging out at the beach or pool. But, to make sure you stay safe and stress free, you've got to make sure your beach bag is filled with the right basics."

Sunscreen is a must, and it's not cool to be sunburned. Make sure you have SPF 30 and also a special one for your face. Make sure it's a 30 and it has zinc.

Gretta Monahan: "I always keep my sunscreens in a baggy so they don't get all sandy. I almost forgot the lips. They need special care and they need SPF too."

Gretta Monahan: "Sun and surf can dry you out, so you have to stay hydrated. If you're not bringing a cooler, I suggest freezing your water and then wrapping it in a towel to go. One of the things I love that the luxury hotels use is this spray water. This will moisturize tone and refresh. You can just spritz this right on."

Gretta Monahan: "We can't forget about the hair. I know, I know we should all wear a hat, but we don't always do it, so to help your hair this is the perfect thing. Oscar Blandi sunshield. This will protect you from sun and salt and it even has SPF."

Gretta Monahan: "The next thing I love I found at Sephora. A little travel brush and it even has a mirror. It closes right up."

Gretta Monahan: "Thirdly, if you don't want to spend anything, just want to grab what you have, this is my favorite, conditioner you can bring with you. As soon as you get out of the water, reapply to protect your hair."

Gretta Monahan: "If you're running from the beach to meet friends or go on a date then you need a few more things. Here are my tricks. One of my favorites is Purity because you can just put it on, rinse it off and feel good and clean."

Gretta Monahan: "Second is your moisturizer you can never do that enough. And third is the new cargo melt proof makeup."
