Gretta's Got It: Men's Hair

WSVN -- Gretta Monahan: "Hey, guys, if you're trying to keep a cool look this summer, look no further because we're going to take a walk and see Drako at the Hair Dragon, and he's going to show us how men can look their coolest this summer."

Drako: "My client, Alex, I just gave him a corporate faux hawk, and it's very easy for guys to keep that up because it's a very easy haircut. It's got a lot of texture, and it's great for summer because it's also really short."

Gretta Monahan: "Not sure what cut will look hot but feel cool this summer? Drako says almost anything goes, depending on how you wear it."

Drako: "Long, shaggy hair is really in. Faux hawks are also still really in. Cropped hair, also, kind of like mine, is also easy for summer, and it's very wash and wear."

Gretta Monahan: "Just because it's hot doesn't mean you have to cut all your locks off. Just make sure the cut fits your face and head shape."

Drako: "Look for a stylist that can come up with the best style for them. Instead of going to a barber shop and shaving it off, go to a stylist that can guide them to the best hair cut that will suit their face."

Gretta Monahan: "For you older guys -- there's no excuse for your head to be living in the Dark Ages. Ask your stylist to mix a classic cut with a modern edge."

Drako: "You can still have a modern hair cut without it being ultra trendy and ultra edgy."

Gretta Monahan "And, FYI, color is where it's at for men. Whether it be a little highlight or blending grey, don't be afraid. Go for it."

Drako: "I cover a lot of guys who have a lot of gray, so I can paint in some of their natural color into it or highlights. A lot of men are also doing highlights."

Drako: "I like doing it very natural, as natural as possible, so they don't get asked, 'Oh, have you gotten color done?' and a lot of guys get embarrassed with that, so..."

Gretta Monahan: "And for you guys who can't part with your long hair. No worry, but you've got to lighten your load."

Drako: "Just make it a little more textured to take some of the volume out, and most of the bulk out, so you still have long hair, but it's not as much hair on your head, so it'll be a little cooler."

Gretta Monahan: "So, guys, remember, just like us girls, you got to keep the products light in the summer because of the heat and humidity. I'm Gretta for Gretta's Got It."
