Hot for the Holidays: Hot Gifts for Her
For most guys, buying their girl the perfect holiday gift is pure torture. No worries. 7's Shireen Sandoval is here with everything you need to know to put the perfect present under the tree.
WSVN -- We know just walking into a store can leave some guys quickly searching for the nearest exit. Well trust me, the smooth move for the gal in your life- a bee line for the jewelry counter.
Alison Deyette, Style Expert: "For trends for women we're seeing statement pieces. Dangling earrings. Earrings with jewels. We're also seeing multi tiered necklaces and chains."
Bigger is better this year. Bunches of bangles are always appreciated and if you want extra points from your other half, ditch the cardboard box and put some effort into it. By wrapping it up in a special box, bow optional.
Alison Deyette: "What a nice way to present a piece of jewelry as a gift, but give it in a fabulous jewerly box."
Another popular gift for the ladies- a cute journal to allow us jot down our inner most thoughts! If that scares you more than shopping, fear not. Pick up picture frames or pillows. No, don't worry that we have 10 of each at home already. We need a few more. You know we can't get enough.
For stocking stuffers, at TJ Maxx and Marshalls, stock up on some amazing bath gift sets.
Alison Deyette: "It all comes in one fabulous package."
Meaning you don't have to wrap - and we'll smell lovely. Scarves are smoking hot this year. Just go for colorful rich fabrics.
Alison Deyette: "Look for silks with great patterns or even linen."
Another safe bet is a girl's favorite accessory, ok, besides shoes. Purses.
Alison Deyette: "That clutch, that bracelet are great gift items to give to your girlfriend, your wife. Because you can't go wrong with size."
Purses are still big and colorful. Look for fuzzy ones or lots of embelishments like jewels and chains.
Alison Deyette: "We're a local brand."
If you really want to be trendy this holiday season, the buzz is to shop local. Meaning buy locally made products from local merchants. At Browne and Company in the Design District, we found a fun cosmetic line called Tinte.
Stacy Reid, Tinte: "My husband and I run the company straight out of Miami Beach."
Their signature product is the flavored lip glosses.
Stacy Reid: "We have colors and flavors like bubble gum, cream soda, peach fizz, cake. They taste delicious."
Meaning you will enjoy a taste of the holidays as much as your girl does.
Another popular gift- their cute little makeup kits.
Stacy Reid: "They're an all in one kit, how to achieve the look on the back, and they have everything you need in here."
If you want your girl to be a beauty for real...
Leslie Munsell, Beauty for Real Cosmetics: "We've boxed in this reusable lucite box a lip color and a nail polish. Both have the LED lights in the cap."
Beauty for real is another south florida company. And putting one of these bright little numbers under the tree will have her shining all day long.
And one final hint guys to hit a home run. Before you hit the store, suck it up and do a little detective work in your girl's closet.
Alison Deyette: "Look in her own closet. Take a sneak peak at what she is wearing."
