All Hot for the Holidays

If there's a techie or gamer on your list forget the socks and sweaters. Instead, go for gadgets. Here's what's "Hot for the Holidays" this season.

WSVN -- From speakers to flat screens and everything in between. The race is on for 2011's must-have holiday gadgets. And it's OK to take notes.

Vince Cipollone, Brandsmart USA: "The holiday season's coming - we're getting ready for the controlled chaos - that's going to come into our buildings."

Brandsmart USA is bursting with BOSE sound. The Cinemate has only two speakers but can rattle any room.

Vince Cipollone: "It gives you sound, all encompassing sound."

For a smaller system that connects to your devices via bluetooth technology, link up to the Soundlink.

Vince Cipollone: "It gives you personal sound, without having to have a headphone or listen to your small little speaker on your phone."

You could ring in the new year with a new i-phone 4-s. But the hottest computing this season- tablets.

Vince Cipollone: "Tablets, you can take them anywhere, they have a long battery life."

And affordable choices are out there. Check out this tablet for under $100.

Also smokin' to start 2012, the new Kindle Fire, the Nook Tablet, and of course - the iPad 2.

Heidi Weiss, Brookstone: "What is hot is anything that is tied to app control, anything that you can operate with an iPhone, an iPad, an iTouch, any of the 'i' products."

The folks at Brookstone taking a bite out of Apple with interactive ways to take your phone or tablet to new heights.

You pilot the AR Drone Quadricopter directly from your device. It can soar 150 feet in the air, streaming back live video from two mounted cameras. Just download the app available for Apple and Android and you're ready to lift off.

And red rover, red rover, send this spy bot right over. The video and audio enabled, roving vehicle is not your father's remote controlled car.

Heidi Weiss: "They're going to fight over it at the house, between the parents and the kids -and it's really fun to chase your pets around too."

Need some more drive to fulfill your singing dreams? There's the Soulo wireless karaoke mic.

Heidi Weiss: This would be great for kids, for adult, anybody who is in American Idol enthusiast."

If you'd rather just watch people sing, big screens are always high Up on any holiday list. The LG Pentouch turns your TV into a canvas. Paint on family pictures, even print from the television.

Vince Cipollone: "Based on your artistic ability, which you can see I really don't have any."

But no artistic talent is needed for the latest TV craze. 3-D is popping into more and more homes.

Vince Cipollone: "More and more movies are coming out, every single day we get a new title - people want 3D."

Want to create your own 3-D movies? Sony and JVC let you do that, too.

And finally, no gadget story could be complete without video games. There's the PS3, the wii and the controller-free Kinect for x-box 360. So you think you can dance?

Vince Cipollone: "I don't think I have any rhythm."

Happy shopping.
