Hollywood and Dine: Halle Berry's Sauerkraut & Kielbasa

She's got one of the best bodies in hollywood, but that doesn't mean Halle Berry eats like a rabbit. The star reveals her recipe for her own version of comfort food in today's Hollywood & Dine.

1  package sauerkraut
1 lb. kielbasa or smoked sausage
1 medium onion
1 tbs. butter
1/2 tsp. caraway seeds
1 qt. apple juice
salt and pepper
optional 1/4 cup brown sugar

Add butter and onions to a large sauce pan. Over medium high heat, soften onion for four or five minutes.
Drain and rinse sauerkraut, then add to onions. Add a couple of generous pinches of caraway seeds.
Pour apple juice to top of sauerkraut, then add kielbasa. Cover and cook about 30 minutes over medium low heat. Pour off excess apple juice and serve on platter.

Optional:  if desired, sprinkle a couple of tablespoons of brown sugar over top of sauerkraut and place in oven for 30 minutes and serve.
