WSVN -- A local Idol taking the stage for an international cause. South Florida's Ramiele Malubay joining forces with another season 7 alum, all to benefit flood victims in the Pacific.

They were BFFs on American Idol season 7 Ramiele Malubay even shed some tears for fallen Idol Danny Noriega when he got the boot, but time heals all. The pair coming together this past weekend at Everglades High in Miramar for something bigger than Idol.

Ramiele Malubay: "This show is a benefit show to help the typhoon victims of the Philippines, they've gotten hit a couple of times."

The two typhoons just a week apart devastating the islands killing more than 250 people and leaving thousands homeless.

Ramiele Malubay: "They need food, they need money, they need anything that they can get."

The tragedy hitting home for Ramiele who lived in the Philippines until she was four and returned to her roots to perform there last year, but Saturday, it was back to her home turf of South Florida with flood victims on her mind and power in her voice.

Eccentric Danny Noriega was quick to lend a hand and his unique personality to the packed high school auditorium.

Danny Noriega: "Of course, Ramiele told me about it, I'm like, I'm down, I'm down like James Brown."

Ramiele Malubay: "Danny is Filipino by heart, this little piece of hair is Danny's Filipino side."

Louis Aguirre: "A second fundraiser show will be held this Friday night at Ramiele's Pembroke Pines hangout "The Coffee Scene." They're asking for a $5 donation or two cans of food at the door.
