They performed their favorite singers' songs, but did they do their Idols proud? Our insider, Louis Aguirre is here.
Song by their personal Idol....
Wow fresh out the gate and Casey Abrams gets a haleluhia choir to help him nail a Beatles-Joe Cocker classic. You think idol is pushing for this guy no wonder. Love him and so do the judges.
Interscope Records chairman Jimmy Lovine and his army of producers mentoring the idols.
Helping James Durbin blow it out again this week with Paul McCartney. This guys growing on me.
Scotyy McReery served some decent Garth Brooks. He was better last week, but I like this kid, he can sing and he's awesome.
But wow it's Pia Toscano who really impressed. Diva does Celine proud and gets my vote for the best of the night crazy good.
Also got to give props to Naema Adedapo not my favorite vocally, but I loved the reggae vibe she gave to Umbrella and knocks out the one of the best performances of the night.
Paul McDonald was fun to watch, but I hated the song choice. An obscure ditty but folk artist, Rian Adams...I didn't get it.
Love Lauren Alaina but she stumbled with less than memorable Shania song. Wasn't crazy about this one and neither were the judges.
The problem was the arrangements the producers gave these kids and I hated the disco vibe on Stevie Wonder and it didn't help Stefano Langone one bit.
Jacob Lusk a mess singing R-Kelly thanks to an outta left field key change that made for a lot of screaming not singing.
You gotta be kidding me the judges being way to nice either that or Paula left her sippy cup behind. Most of the idols just struggled.
But it's Ashton Jones who's I think is most in danger of getting the boot. Her Diana Ross joint uninspiring and she didn't have the range to pull it off...See ya.
