Idol Insider: Keeping Up With Kris
Each elimination brings the fortunate finalists closer to the ultimate goal winning and that's what it's all about right Charlie Sheen? One guy who knows about winning on Idol season eight champ Kris Allen who's got a unique perspective on the journey.
WSVN -- The Idol ride can be a real pressure cooker.
Kris Allen: "It's hard to focus a little bit."
Soft spoken crooner Kris Allen from Conway, Arkansas knows the rising stress level the season 10 kids are feeling as the competition heats up.
Kris Allen: "There's a lot that they have to do right now and they're focused on one thing, but there's so much other stuff going on around it."
Stuff like wardrobe, photo shoots, interviews those weekly Ford commercials. Anyways tell us about that one thing that's key to Idol glory Kris.
Kris Allen: "That one thing is I have to sing this song really well, and that's the thing that matters the most."
If age mattered you wouldn't know it this year. Teens Lauren Alaina and Thia Megia are still in the hunt. Kris was 23 when he auditioned, and is impressed by 'hem idol young-ins.
Kris Allen: "I don't know how they do it. And I think that some people, some people are mature enough to do it. I was not. I can't even imagine doing this at 18 or 19 years old."
One thing Kris Wishes he could have done differently during his stint on the show take some time to stop and smell the Idol roses.
Kris Allen: "The biggest thing that I felt like I missed out on sometimes, was just have fun, and like put a smile on your face, you are doing what you love."
Kris says the addition of JLo and Steven Tyler has added some fuel to the Idol fire.
Kris Allen: "Everyone loves Steven Tyler, J-Lo, I mean, who doesn't like Randy Jackson?"
Same dog different cougar JLo's emotional side reminding Kris of another sympathetic judge Abdul.
Kris Allen: "I think Paula had that. I think Paula had the 'I care about you as a person and as an artist and I want to see you succeed."
Louis: "Kris is now busy writing songs for his second album, which he hopes to have out by this summer."
