All Living It Up

It takes more than a sharp eye to be an expert marksman. Tonight, Jackie heads to target practice. She's taking aim at an Olympic sport where players shoot at a small moving disc. It's Living It Up Sporting Clays.

(WSVN) -- We're Living It Up Sporting Clays at Sporting Clays International. This time, we've brought out a big gun to give lessons. He's a 2 time Olympic Medallist and a 12 time National Champion Dan Carlisle.

Jackie: "How long has shooting clays been around?"

Dan: "Shooting Clays has been around for over 45-50 years. It started in England and it's only been here in American since 1984-85."

Jackie: "Should I close one eye?"

Dan: "No we're going to keep both eyes open. It's a two eye sport."

"Seeing the clay is really the heart and soul of any target sport."

Dan: "When the bird comes out, you're going to watch the bird with both eyes, you're going to follow it along and just look at the bird 100% when you follow."

Dan: "Pull, now, good we got that one."

Jackie: "We got it."

Dan: "Lets shoot a couple more and I'm going to let you load your own this time. You're going to be on your own."

Dan: "That time you were really looking a lot at the gun, trying to make sure you were on it."

Dan: "A good analogy is like driving you car. You can't look at the hood and drive your car, you'd run into something. You look at traffic and know where the hoods at at all times."

Jackie: "I got it."

Dan: "You got your first clay. Way to go girl. Good job."

Jackie: "It's difficult."

Dan: "First you figured out every time you looked at it 100%, you hit it."

Dan: "The next thing is see how in the beginning how fast your speed was, and now you're real in balance with it and you were right on it the whole way."

Jackie: "Pull. yes."

Dan: "You could be doing this in a couple months easy."

Jackie: "It's good to end on a good note."

Dan: "Good to end on a good note. How did that feel?"

Jackie: "Felt smooth."

Jackie: "It's been a lot of fun Living It Up Sporting Clay. A big thanks goes to Dan Carlisle .

Next Tuesday we suggest Jackie puts on the protective gear. She's taking a shot at Paintball.
