Well tonight, it's a seaward expedition that starts at the shore. Jackie's putting the power of the paddle to the test. She's headed to Key Biscayne for some Kayaking.
(WSVN) -- We are Living It Up Kayaking at the Sonesta Beach Resort on Key Biscayne. Today I'll be learning the technique of paddling, so I've got my paddle, I've got the kayak and I'm getting ready to make a real big splash.
Jackie: "And what do I need to know about Kayaking before I go out in the open waters?"
Derik: "What you need to know about Kayaking is to be able to have some good balance in the water, be able to have good upper strength."
J
ackie: "Okay so you said it's a good workout, what does it work out?"Derik: "Triceps, upper body, chest, biceps, shoulders, back."
Jackie: "So are the conditions out here today good for Kayaking?"
Derik: "These are great conditions for Kayaking. Got very flat water, calm water. Very good for Kayaking."
Jackie: "Jackie: Okay you heard it, the conditions are perfect for Kayaking. Just got the lessons, let's see how we do."
Jackie: "Now do I want the paddle like this, or more tilted?"
Derik: "Just keep the paddle straight."
Derik: "Arms straight, left, right, left."
Jackie: "We're picking up speed."
Jackie: "Whooo I need a break."
Jackie: "Where's my Pina Colada?"
Jackie: "What a perfect day and a perfect place to Kayak, I definately reccomend Kayaking if you've never Kayaked before. It's very relaxing and also it's a pretty good workout."
Jackie: "I think we're getting a good sun tan too while we're Kayaking."
