We're combining swing with salsa... and I guess you could say, "There's a whole lot of shakin goin on." Tonight, Jackie's showing us how to get down on the dance floor. She's Living It Up Swing Dancing - South Florida style.

We are Living It Up doing Swing Dancing but this has a Miami flare, if you want to learn how to do this, well strap on those dancing shoes on and get ready.Jackie: "Tell me a little bit about Swing Dancing."
Roderigue: "It started a long time ago, like in the 1930s
. This dance is one of the unique American dance, now danced all over the world."Jackie: "Now is the Latin Swing Dancing really picking up here in South Florida?"
Roderigue: "Definately
. Most of the time when you go to competition you go to Latin club, you know they'll be dancing swing, jive, and disco also."Roderigue: "Okay this swing is a dance that can dance to 3 different timing, we have single swing, double swing, triple swing. Today I decide to teach you the triple swing."
Roderigue: "She has her weight over the left foot, the right foot is free, she start with a walk step, 2 changes of weight."
Roderigue: "Quick, quick and she will do a shuffle, triple step, and triple step."
Roderigue: "Allright Jackie are you ready?"
Jackie: "Sure"
Roderigue: "We start with the walk step."
Roderigue: "Walk step, triple, triple."
Roderigue: "That was your basic, you are a fast learner Jackie."
Jackie: "Thank You"
Roderigue: "Now I'm going to change direction a little bit
. It will be a little faster, a little more energetic."Jackie: "I never thought that swing dancing could be sexy, but they definately make it sexy."
Roderigue: "Allright Jackie you did a pretty good job for you know your first time, and it's about our time to show you how we do it at the competition, on another level."
Jackie: "Allright"
Jackie: "Well that's what it's like Living It Up Swing Dancing at the Canadian Club. I'm Jackie Johnson 7 News."
On Tuesday, Jackie's taking the reins... or should we say the harness.
