(WSVN) -- We are Living It Up at Pompano Park Harness Track where we are going to learn how to jog and train a racehorse. We've got Bronze Star here, he's ready to go so let's giddyup.
Jackie: "And what exactally is Harness Racing?"
Steve: "Well the difference between a standardbred and a thoroughbred, thoroughbreds run and our horses either pace or trot."
Jackie: "And how fast would you actually go Harness Racing?"
Steve: "Top speed maybe anywhere from 35-40 mph."
Jackie: "Now I know you are one away from a 1000 wins, so what does it take to win?"
Steve: "Sometimes a lot of luck, sometimes the best horse."
Steve: "Okay Jackie put on your helmet and let's get ready to ride."
Steve: "Come on Bronze."
Jackie: "Here we go."
Steve: "So this is our driving mechanism to steer him."
Jackie: "So if I keep it like this, he'll just keep going straight?"
Steve: "Yeah if you want to pull him a little bit to the left you can see where he will go to the left."
Jackie: "Ooh"
Jackie: "So how long is the track?"
Steve: "It's 5/8 of a mile."
Jackie: "And how long would an actual race last?"
Steve: "Somewhere around a minute and 51 seconds."
Steve: "Now we are getting ready for him to go the way these horses usually race."
Jackie: "So when we turn him around that's when they start picking up speed, because that's the direction they race in?"
Steve: "Exactaly."
Jackie: "Allright well we are ready to pick up some speed."
Steve: "Come on Bronzie."
Jackie: "Well that was definately exciting learning how to jog and train a racehorse in Pompano, if you want more information on learning about Harness Racing, check out the information below. Best of luck to Bronze Star.
