Move over Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren. Tonight, Living It Up is living in style. Jackie's taking the catwalk by storm -- by designing her own dress. Take a look.

(WSVN) -- I am definitely in my element today living it up designing and creating a dress, look who we've brought along, nationally renowned designer, Rene Ruiz, he's going to help me so let's get started.

Jackie: "Well Rene you are one of the best designers here in South Florida, what do you think makes you so great?"

Rene: "You have to have an eye for style and design."

Jackie: "So not only I notice that they have to be very creative, but you have to be good at drawing to make the sketches of the dress, correct?"

Rene: "That is a plus I think, it's good when you have an idea and you are able to express it through your hands on a piece of paper."

Jackie: "And you are very creative, I know you have different designs, what inspires you?"

Rene: "More than anything I think women inspire me, when I travel and the things that I see, the fabrics, paintings, art, all the things inspire me."

Jackie: "All right Rene, I think I've got some great ideas for a dress, so you ready to get started?"

Rene: "Let's go"

Jackie: "Rene I was kind of thinking something with a long neck line, something elegant."

Rene: "How long do you want the dress?"

Jackie: "Kind of cocktail length, maybe shorter and maybe something flowy."

Rene: "So how do you like this?"

Jackie: "I love it, that looks beautiful."

Rene: "Are you ready to go pick out some fabrics?"

Jackie: "Absolutely"

Jackie: "What about red, you can wear red to anything right, red's a good basic color."

Rene: "Absolutely."

Rene: "So what we have to do now is take your measurements."

Jackie: "Shhh"

Rene: "According to your measurements we're going to roll out the fabric and you are going to make your own pattern."

Jackie: "Now from start to finish, doing all of this, how long will it take to put a dress together."

Rene: "Depending on the details and the amount of work involved in the dress, it can take 8 to 16 hours."

Rene: "So we cut this, we know that this fits you perfect and now from this we are going to go and cut the actual fabric of the dress."

Jackie: "So the reason we do this is to make sure you get it right so that you don't waste the real fabric, correct?"

Rene: "Absolutely."

Rene: "Okay Jackie so now we are ready to sew."

Jackie: "How am I doing?"

Rene: "Okay Jackie it looks like you did the dress, it's all done and hopefully it will fit perfectly."

Jackie: "All right they're going to start to fit me now, sorry guys, no cameras allowed."

Jackie: "No peeking"

Jackie: "That's what it's like Living It Up designing and styling your own dress with Rene Ruiz, I love the dress Rene, I'm ready to hit the town."
