Whatever you do, don't rock the boat. Jackie Johnson's competing with some of South Florida's top rowers. She's headed to Biscayne Bay to learn the sport of crew.

(WSVN) -- Jackie: "Well it's a beautiful day and we are living it up at the Miami Rowing Club learning crew, so get ready we're going to take you on the waters to row, row, row your boat."

Jackie: "Just tell me a little bit about rowing."

Fransisco Viacava: "It's a very tough sport. When I was training for the Olympics, I would row 40 miles a day plus weight lifting, it's just a full time job."

Jackie: "So what does it take to be good at it then?"

Fransisco: "Commitment, just commitment"

Jackie: Its a pretty good workout, isn't it?

Francisco: "It's a workout that involves your aerobic condition, your legs, your upper body, stomach."

Jackie: "Don't you usually do rowing in the morning?"

Francisco: "We row early in the morning because we have the flat water and its not too hot."

Jackie: "Tell me a little bit about the coxswain."

Fransisco: "The coxswain can't weigh more than 100 pounds. When the coach is not around in the regatta because the coach is not allowed to talk to the crew, he or she is the one in charge and takes over the strategy."

Jackie: "How long do you usually row in the competitions?"

Fransisco: "We row 2000 meters, that's the Olympic distance."

Jackie: "So maybe you can show me some of those good moves."

Fransisco: "Okay, let's get in the water."

Fransisco: "You are going to be sitting number 4, you are going to be stroking, so that means that you are going to set the rhythm for the rest."

Fransisco: "1, 2, 3, up."

Fransisco: "You go to the catch on the feather, always on the feather."

Fransisco: "And then you are going to flip the oar, flip it, that's on the square, and then you are going to pull."

Jackie: "Like that?"

Fransisco: "Nice, beautiful."

Jackie: "See ya."

Fransisco: "Push with the legs first, then the back, then the arms, 3, 2, 1, remember that, 3, 2, 1."

Fransisco: "Good that's it."

Jackie: "We are ready for the race, let's see who wins."

Fransisco: "Are you ready... go."

Jackie: "Well we won, and that is what it is like Living It Up learning crew, with the Miami rowing team, if you want more information log on to wsvn.com, my arms are exhausted, I'm Jackie Johnson 7 news."
