Living It Up: Surfing

Jackie: "Now, South Florida is not really known for huge surfing waves, how do you handle that?"

Geoff: "Well, South Florida, yeah, is not known for consistent huge surfing waves, but when the swells come in, South Florida is, without a doubt, is the best part of the country to be surfing."

Jackie: "What is the hardest part about picking it up?"

Geoff: "The hardest part with surfing is catching the waves."

Geoff: "The first thing we want to see you do is get comfortable on the surfboard."

Geoff: "When you are ready to stand up, what you do is put your hands down and you would pop up and you would land like that."

Jackie: "I'm going to be laying there like this, paddle, paddle, paddle."

Geoff: "Yeah, just like that."

Jackie: "So I'm not going to get hurt, am I?"

Geoff: "No, this board in particular that you are on is a safe soft surfboard specially designed for beginners."

Jackie: "Great."

Jackie: "Well, I think I’ve got a hold of all this-- got my surfboard. I'm going to go catch a wave."

Geoff: "Jackie, paddle, paddle!"

Geoff: "She leaned a little too far forward, that's why she bailed."

Geoff: "That's terrific; she's got good balance."

Geoff: "Jackie, do a drop knee!"

Jackie: "What a rush, when you actually get up on one of those waves."

Jackie: "Well, that's what it's like Living It Up learning how to surf with Florida Surf Lessons."
