Living It Up: Skating With Disney On Ice
Imagine skating inside a gigantic costume with mesh eyes. Well tonight, Jackie Johnson's joining one of the most animated acts around. She's Living It Up with Mickey, Minnie, and many more... "chilling" out with Disney On Ice.
(WSVN) -- We are Living It Up bringing you the magic of Disney right here in South Florida and guess what, we are going to teach you to be a part of Disney on Ice so come along.
Jackie: "Alright Stephanie, I know you are part of this year's Disney on Ice, what's it like?"
Stephanie: "It's an amazing experience, you get to travel all throughout the country, meet new people, and we get to skate which is what we love."
Jackie: "How do you get into each character?"
Stephanie: "Well I think once you put the costume on you sort of get into the role."
Jackie: "And we are sitting here and this is Lilo's home right, from Lilo and stitch?"
Stephanie: "This is Lilo's house, yes."
Stephanie: "We are actually going to have Sabrina help you today, she's one of our lead hula girl... the hula dancers are the opening act in the Lilo and Stitch segment."
Jackie: "I'm excited."
Jackie: "I am the polar hula dancer because I've got my sweats on."
Jackie: "Tell me a little bit about your dance."
Sabrina: "The hula people are very grounded so they stay down on their knees, so you always want to keep your knees bent...everything that you do with your hands is telling a story, like this is the sun, and this is a flower, and then this is a sacred woman, it's a beautiful dance."
Jackie: "Well you want to show me some of this?"
Sabrina: "Sure."
Sabrina: "Step on your right foot and put your left foot out, and then step left right left
...step on your left foot, turn around."Jackie: "So, then, the next part of it, your arms sway to the right, to the left, to the right, you clap and then they come like this."
Jackie: "I really appreciate what you guys do out here, this is hard."
Jackie: "And that's what it's like Living It Up with Disney on Ice, if you want more information on going to the show, check out the information below. I'm Jackie Johnson, 7 News."
