All Living It Up

We all know Benihana is more than just a meal, it's edible entertainment. Well tonight, Living It Up is taking a cooking class and guess who is the chef? Jackie Johnson's is slicing and dicing up the fun on a hot hibachi grill.

(WSVN) -- We are Living It Up at Benihana and everybody loves hibachi, it's been around since 1964 and we are going to show you why it's a crowd-pleaser."

Jackie: "You are not just a chef that cooks in the back and no one watches, you are out here and not only do you have to cook, you've got to entertain the crowd."

Arnel: "Yeah we do just to entertain the customers, so they don't fall asleep."

Jackie: "Do you ever mess up?"

Arnel: "It's part of the show, and we just go say oh Japanese mistake."

Jackie: "Alright well I need my chef's hat and we are going to get started."

Jackie: "How hot does this get?

Arnel: "We are on 450 degrees right now. It can go up to maximum 475."

Jackie: "Okay what would you like to eat?"

Customer: "I'd like the Benihana special please."

Jackie: "And you sir?"

Other customer: "I'd like the Benihana special also."

Jackie: "2 Benihana specials coming right up."

Jackie: "Alright what's next?"

Arnel: "This is like the basic show when we go..."

Jackie: "Got it!"

Jackie: "Its getting a little steamy in here...I could get a facial."

Jackie: "Oh a little volcano."

Arnel: "Now we're gonna get the shrimp appetizer part."

Arnel: "We have to take the tail part and we have to cut them in the middle, you take the tail separate and you put it like that."

Jackie: "Oh, it's still alive, it's alive!"

Jackie: "Ready?"

Jackie: "Hey you think it's easy?"

Jackie: "How about, I've got a trick for you...ooooh, where'd it go?"

Jackie: "Sir you were laughing at me so you only get a little."

Arnel: "So we go with the lobster and steak."

Jackie: "Yeah"

Jackie: "How is it?"

Jackie: "Do you want a napkin to spit it out in?"

Jackie: "That's what I thought."

Jackie: "And how do you want your steak cooked? You want it rare? There you go."

Jackie: "Medium rare, Just how you like it...now eat it"

Arnel: "This is Japanese egg roll."

Arnel: "I love you Jackie."

Jackie: "And that's what it's like Living It Up cooking hibachi here at Benihana in North Bay Village, I'm Jackie Johnson, eat up, 7 News."
