You could say Jackie Johnson's getting a leg up. She's learning there's more to life than that same old song and dance. Tonight, Jackie's getting her kicks Living It Up Like A Star with the Radio City Rockettes.
(WSVN) -- We are Living It Up with every girl's, and maybe guys dreams, to dance with the Rockettes, they are getting ready to perform the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, so stretch out those legs, we are getting to do some kicks with the Rockettes."
Jackie: "So what's it like to be a Rockette?"
Troy: "It's a great experience, we get to go to great places like South Florida and perform in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular."
Jackie: "And so how did you become a Rockette?"
Troy: "Well I've always studied jazz, tap, and ballet, which is crucial to being a Radio City Rockette and then we also have to sing, And the Radio City Rockettes have to be between 5'6" and 5'10 1/2" and 18 years of age."
Jackie: "And you are famous for you kick line."
Troy: "Yes, yes."
Jackie: "How many kicks do you do?"
Troy: "We do 300 kicks a show."
Jackie: "And what's the key to getting a good kick?"
Troy: "The key to getting a good kick is timing and control."
Jackie: "Well I'm excited to learn, let's get started."
Troy: "Jackie we are going to warm up, all of the Rockettes have their own warm up, everyone does what works for them."
Troy: " So Jackie, do you feel warm, are you ready to go?"
Troy: "We are going to have you start in a right bevel and for a bevel you want to put the tip of your toe at the ball of your foot."
Troy: "Perfect, stand up nice and tall and that is the perfect Rockette stance."
Troy: "What we are going to do first is walk downstage...1,2,3,4 you are going to step out onto your right and you are going to kick left, step left, kick right."
Troy: "So these are our famous strut kicks."
Troy: "Great Jackie, I think you are in."
Troy: "She's doing great, Jackie's doing great."
Troy: "Now it's really crucial not to kick out
...so that means if all the girls are not kicking and you are the only one kicking, you've just created the biggest taboo of a Rockette."Jackie: "Alright girls, ready for the best part? Let's go get on our costumes."
