All Living It Up

It's a good thing Jackie Johnson wasn't born with two left feet. Tonight, she's learning from the best how to dance like a diva. Jackie's Living It Up with Darrin Henson - choreographer to such stars as N'sync and Britney Spears.

(WSVN) -- Jackie (doing running man): "Hey, we are Living It Up, and I am learning how to dance...Darrin: "Stop, stop! My name is Darrin Henson, choreographer to the stars"

Jackie: "I know you."

Darrin: "Yeah, I did N'sync and Britney and all those. Look, you look like you are hurting yourself, and I want to help you out. Let me show you some of the latest dance steps."

Jackie: "Oh, like the Roger Rabbit?" She does the Roger Rabbit.

Darrin: "No, no, no, not the Roger Rabbit, some new stuff."

Jackie: "Well, first off, just tell me about your dance history."

Darrin: "Well, I've choreographed for artists like Michael Jackson, N'sync, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Lopez, and I won the MTV video music award for N'sync's 'Bye Bye Bye' video."

Jackie: "I've noticed that they do neat new moves that no one's ever done before. What inspires you? What makes you come up with these moves?"

Darrin: "Everything. I watch people in the street. I listen to the music. A lot of it is just my raw emotion of what I'm feeling, and what the music tells me to do."

Jackie: "OK, so let's say someone like Britney Spears. If you come up with a dance, and you go to teach her, how long does it take her to perfect the dance?"

Darrin: "Britney was really fast learning all her dance steps, the one that I had a hard time teaching. believe it or not. was Christina Aguilera. It took me four hours to teach her a couple of eight counts in 'Genie in a Bottle.'"

Jackie: "So, how do we start off?"

Darrin: "Well, let's go to the mirror."

Darrin: "So, what we are going to do is I'm going to show you a dance that I recently created for a song with Usher and Little John and Ludacris. It's called 'Yeah.'"

Darrin: "So we are going to start off with the left foot down first. Right. We are going to go for four steps, left foot down. We are going to go 1, 2, 3, 4."

Darrin: "And then you are going to grab, pinch the air, and then you are going to go into a ple-A. Ple-A the hands. Rise when you go down and the hands go down as you come back up."

Jackie and Darrin counting and doing steps.

Darrin: "OK, you look like you are ready. We went over the dance steps. There's one thing missing. You need your groove gear to get into the groove."

Jackie: "Nice, and this will make me dance better?"

Darrin: "Yeah."

Jackie: "Good, I need all the help I can get."

She puts headband on.

Darrin: "Here we go, I'm going to count you in: 5,6,7,8." She starts dancing.

Darrin: "And this is the freestyle part of it. Whatever you feel like. See, everything just stays loose."

She does routine, and Darrin and Jackie high five.

Darrin: "Good job, good work."

Jackie: "All right, Darrin, you showed me how to dance, but I know your moves are much better than that. Why don't you show us?"

Jackie: "It was a lot of fun working with Darrin Henson, so a big thanks to him . . . Hey, how about this for one of your new videos?" Jackie does a stupid move.

Darrin: "I give up."

Next week, Jackie has what promises to be her toughest task yet: she's Living It Up as a kindergarten teacher.
