It's one of the newest clubs on the South Beach party scene. But Heathrow Lounge already has quite a following beautiful crowd, great DJs and unique atmosphere, unlike any on the beach. Tonight, Louis List is landing in Heathrow.
WSVN -- This is Heathrow Lounge, one of my favorite new clubs on South Beach.
Man 1: "I love Heathrow. It's got the best vibe, the coolest people. It's like South Beach, like 1996."
"You know, we wanted to bring a little downtown vibe to South Beach, you know, somewhere where it's a lot less pretentious and a lot more fun, man."
Far from your typical South Beach black box with disco lights, Heathrow's got style, a throwback to the London mod days. Kind of what you'd expect Mick Jagger or David Bowie's London library to look like.
Man 2: "It is English. It's a British kind of vibe. You just don't feel like you're in Miami."
From 70s glam rockers to a very messy Amy Winehouse stumbling around the club. You're definitely not on South Beach anymore.
I love this place. I keep coming back. That's a good sign, the music is always awesome, a mix of house, pop, R&B with some classic throwbacks just to mix things up.
Louis Aguirre: "I'm really just gonna feel out the crowd tonight, see what happens. I'm a big house guy. I want these people to dance like crazy nuts, so you're just going to feel and see where the night goes."
Louis Aguirre: "This is the secret room. All the mysteries of the club are exposed. All right, so we're gonna expose the mysteries of the club, bro."
This is Justin Rundell. He's one of the partner's here at Heathrow. We're in the VIP room towards the back, on the second floor.
Justin Rundell: "Right now, we're standing on an ancient Indian burial ground, so you never know what kind of spirits or forces are going to be turning in this room."
By the way the staff here is really "ugly" and "not friendly." Where do they get these people, central casting?
Justin Rundell: "My worse and slowest bartender, but he's so good looking that I can't get rid of him."
And the "ugly" people are everywhere.
That would be intrepid Seven News reporter, Blake Burman. He's so serious on TV.
Louis Aguirre: "So what brings two beautiful Dolphin cheerleaders out to Heathrow on a night like this?"
Cheerleader: "It's my favorite club on South Beach."
Louis Aguirre: "Why is that?"
Cheerleader: "Because it's so different from any club on the Beach. The atmosphere, the music, the people, everything! The way it looks. It's like you're somewhere else, not in Miami."
Yeah, that pretty much sums it up: cool place, cool people and a crazy night on South Beach where there's no telling who you'll bump into.
