Luxury Living: Famed Interior Designer's Brickell Condo
Interior designer, Alison Spear, takes us on a tour of a beautiful Brickell Condo. . .
But on Brickell Avenue you'll also find some of the most luxurious condos in the city.
Tonight, we're taking you inside a local designer's Brickell home, and show you why it's clearly spectacular.
She's got clients on both coasts but when architect and interior designer, Alison Spear, isn't jetting off to Hollywood or New York, she calls South Florida home...
Specifically, the Atlantis Condominium on Brickell Avenue.
"When I walked into this space," says Alison. "I felt like I was sort of in a wow space. A space that I've never seen anything like this space before, and I thought it would turn into a great home, a unique home."
That's because all 38-hundred square feet of this luxury living condo are surrounded by windows overlooking Biscayne Bay.
"My theory on design and architecture is you have to go with what's there, and what was here is a glass box," says Alison. "I was living in a glass house."
Alison carries the clear glass theme throughout her condo... Starting with this dining room set for eight.
You'll also find a transparent cocktail table in the living room.
And the condo's focal point, this must see, staircase.
"The stair is a completely transparent stair with a stainless steel base," explains Alison, "and it's meant to sort of disappear and become part of the architecture."
Alison shares this four bedroom, three-and-a-half bath home with her two children.
One of the condo's best surprises is in her daughter's room, which just like the story book, reveals a secret garden.
"It has a fish pond," Alison says, "and orchids and plants and they're all things that are kind of fun for her to take care of and all of us to take care of."
Things are turned a little upside-down in the kitchen... This walnut wood is usually used on floors, but since Alison's a creative ace she used it for her countertops.
The warm look is offset with sleek and modern Italian pullout cabinets and stainless steel walls...
And a T.V.
"I don't think there are any rules to design," she says. "I think old things, mixed with new things, sort of broken things, things don't have to be perfect."
This two-story limestone column looked perfect to us.
So did Alison's gorgeous guestroom and her beautiful bedroom.
Alison Spear's Brickell condo a truly a classy calling card.
"I do think luxury living is really in your mind," she says, "and I think in your home you should be luxurious."
Alison Spear's celebrity clients include Director Francis Ford Coppola...
