We've taken you inside some spectacular homes...on board some yachts...even high end spas...but tonight's Luxury Living report is perhaps the best example of how the other side lives.
(WSVN) -- Time for today's lesson in Luxury Living...these would be pens...
And these would be writing instruments...The difference; tens of thousands of dollars...yes, you heard correctly...
The Atlantide Pen made by Omas will set you back about 30-thousand dollars.
"So what is the big deal? Why is this pen $30,000?"
Sonia Gibson of Saks Fifth Avenue says, "It's all handmade and the company's known for its' craftsmanship, elegance, it's work."
There are only 30 Atlantides in the world...each fountain pen is handcrafted in 18 karat gold, by 32 skilled Italian artisans.
Each year, the company makes a limited edition with a different theme.
This years is a salute to underwater world, Atlantis.
Celebrities like Tiger Woods and Gene Hackman are among the collectors.
Sonia says, "It's a power pen, just like we have power suits, you need that power look and you're signing those checks or those contracts, you want to have that quality pen, it shows an awful lot about you when you whip it out at a meeting."
"So, this isn't the kind of pen you chew the end of? I don't think so, or you lend out. I hope not. It's like can I borrow your pen? No, I don't think so!"
The pen doesn't get out much so we decided to show if off at Saks Fifth Avenue in Bal Harbour where it's for sale.
"I've got the magic box with the magic pen inside, how much do you think it costs?"
"You're short about a zero, it's 30,000. Oh my God. That's some pen. Watch while it writes for itself."
"Cuanto cuesta? How much? $150 dollars? Oh sir, $30,000. Wow."
30-grand to steep for you...How about this?
An $850-dollar black fountain pen, that even comes with a Venetian mask.
Or this Terminator Two pen made of titanium for just $795 dollars.
Or this black ball point for a mere $425-dollars.
Still too much?
Then do like everybody else and just lift them from the office.
The pens start at $200.00 dollars.
