Luxury Living: Little Palm Island Resort And Spa
We've taken you inside luxury homes, cars and yachts... Tonight, get ready to experience a Luxury Living vacation... right here in South Florida. It's a destination that will make you feel like you're halfway around the world.
(WSVN) -- It sits three-and-a-half miles off the mainland, just east of little Torch Key.
"Good morning and welcome aboard!"
But before your getaway to Little Palm Island Resort And Spa begins, you've got to board the island's ferry.
"It's almost as you've left the place that you go to every day and come into our little world and leave work and all the stress and everything behind," says Terry Bechtold
Little Palm Island Resort And Spa's general manager.
And once you're there, it's so isolated, it feels like you're castaway.
Eat your heart out, Tom Hanks -- the survivors on this island enjoy the comforts of luxury five star service.
One hundred and ten employees at your beck and call 24/7.
"Somebody always there. When you turn your head there's somebody looking and noticing that you need something, and the staff is right on top of that, " says Bechtold.
His five-and-a-half acre island is one of South Florida's most secluded spots and has even been voted one of the most romantic getaways in the U.S.
There are only 30 bungalows on the entire island, which come complete with outdoor showers, your very own hammock, and even personalized stationary.
But don't look for a television or even a telephone in your room...Those are big no-no's when you want to get away from it all.
In fact, there's only one TV and public telephone on the entire island.
"Absolutely love it," says Don Fisher, a resort guest. "No televisions, no radios, no telephones, no interruptions, just the two of us."
Celebrities like Sandra Bullock, Barry Manilow and Former President George Bush have stayed here.
And uber billionaire bill gates rented out the entire island.
"Just water and sky and palm trees," says resort guest Sally Clemente. "It's been very soothing for the soul."
And don't forget a massage at Little Palms Primo Spa...
You can bird watch...
Lounge around on the beach or by the pool
Or just do nothing at all.
On a luxury living island that seems like it's a million miles away but it's not.
"It's so tranquil here," says resort guest Diane Fisher
Resort Guestit's just so beautiful."
"It's been spectacular," says Sally. "We've enjoyed the service, the ambiance, the views."
"It's a special place to us," says Bechtold. "It's like getting lost in paradise."
The island has its own gym and even a beauty salon, but, to stay here, get ready to dole out the cash.
A night's stay can cost anywhere from 7-hundred to 19-hundred dollars a night, depending on the season.
They do have some special Valentine Day packages.
