Luxury Living: Boat House In Coral Gables
It's a boat lovers dream come true. Not only is it on the water but it comes with it's own covered space. Belkys shows it to us in tonight's Luxury Living report.
(WSVN) -- The front is fabulous...
The pool just perfect...
But this Coral Gables home is all about the boat house...
Developer, Marcelo Fernandes says, "I don't know how many - there's a handful in Coral Gables and that's it there's no more.."
Originally built in the 1920's, Developer Marcelo Hernandez was careful to preserve the historic structure when he started remodelling the rest of the home.
Marcelo says, "We had to scrape the house off the boat house and keep it back in it's original shape and then add this house to it and we abutted this house to it...this house isn't connected to it there's actually technically a little space in between cuz we couldn't touch that house the old boathouse.."
"This is fabulous.. "
A boat owners dream to pull into a 13-hundred square foot covered spot right in your own back yard.
"You can't build them anymore so as long as you find one in good shape structurally sound you can paint them and patch em up but you can't touch em.."
And let's face it the rest of the house ain't too shabby...7 bedrooms and 8 and a half bathrooms complete with a laundry chute so everybody can pick up after themselves.
"All the clothes on the scond floor you throw down this hatch and its right in the laudnry room.ready to get cleaned..like this dirty towel..."
And for you lazy types an elevator.
"Did we really need an elevator...come on now..I think we do you know those nights you eat alot too lazy to go up the stairs..for luggage, grandparents, in-laws - unfortunaely the in-laws stay longer.."
"I wanted to stay longer too...still dreaming about this one in Coral Gables."
By the way, the house is already sold.
